Most small town downtowns I’ve visited have a charming, quiet feel. Downtown Franklin is quite charming but it’s anything but quiet! Known as “America’s Favorite Main Street,” the 15-block Downtown Franklin area was bustling with families, couples, and free spirits when my mother and I visited for a girl’s day out. We probably only visit 1/4 of the shops that Downtown Franklin has to offer including Franklin Tea, Main Street Toy Company, Bathos, and more. We walked away with a play food set for Sweet T and some Lavender linen spray for me.
An accordion player outside the pharmacy kept us entertained during part of our walk
I just love some of the vintage signage!
One thing Mom and I aren’t going to miss out on is a town’s food offerings! We enjoyed Saturday brunch at Sol and both ordered the amazing shrimp grits.
We also share some of the best guacamole either of us has tasted, served with deep-fried tortilla chips.
Sol’s atmosphere is fun and quirky. If Bloody Marys are your thing, they have a Bloody Mary bar for weekend brunch.
On to dessert. While I’m sure Sol has excellent dessert offerings, we decided to visit the adjoining bakery for treats to bring home. The German chocolate croissants were amazing!
Downtown Franklin has something for everyone. Whether you are a country girl like me who enjoys the “back in time” feel or if you’re more of a hipster who appreciates art, music, and culture you’re sure to enjoy America’s Favorite Main Street. The Battle of Franklin historic site is minutes away so even the history buffs are covered! Next time you’re in the Nashville area, don’t pass up Downtown Franklin.
