Our last MOPS meeting was full of some of the cutest Halloween decorations DIY you’ve ever seen. One of our mentors, Deanna, made this incredible Halloween centerpiece and gave me permission to share it with all of you.
DIY Halloween Centerpiece for some spooky fun.” width=”467″ height=”700″/>
Not only is she obviously an expert at Halloween decorations DIY, but she brings the same level of creativity and detail to birthday parties and weddings too.
For this Halloween Decorations DIY you will need:
A large black planter
Floral foam
Black crinkle cut paper
Sticks broken into varying lengths (see pics)
Flat black spray paint
7″ feathered crow
Spider
½″ wide ribbon
Double-sided scrapbook paper
Hole punch
Pumpkin Peeps Halloween treats
Orange party streamer
So obviously I wasn’t present for the creation of this masterpiece, but we can deconstruct it a little and hopefully between the photos and what Deanna told me, you can easily figure it out.
Spray sticks with one coat of flat black spray paint and set aside to dry. Trim floral foam to fit into planter. Insert dry sticks. Cover foam with black crinkle cut paper. Nestle crow and spider among branches.
For the hanging baskets (you can make these while you’re waiting for your sticks to dry), use square pieces of scrapbook paper, folded and glued to make a paper treat cone (click the link for tutorial) For a different look, you could use this May Day Basket Printable too and fill them to the brim with candy. Then you’ve got a trick-or-treat tree!
Punch a hole ¼″ down from the edge paper on either side of the basket. Attach ribbon. The rosettes on the front of each basket are made from party streamer. Read this crepe paper rosette tutorial to learn how.
Embellish rosettes with a button, die cut, or 3-d sticker before gluing to baskets. When dry, hang on branches and add Halloween Peeps.
You’ve got yourself a Halloween Centerpiece!
Deanna didn’t stop here with the Halloween Decorations DIY. She also made us a Halloween candy bar
Trick or treating for moms!
Thank you, Deanna, for making these Halloween Decorations DIY’s and for using your creativity to bless others!
