With only 5 ingredients, this quick peach cobbler recipe might better be dubbed “pantry cobbler” since you likely have all the ingredients on hand. My mother and aunt often made this cobbler for a simple dessert, usually in the summer. The great thing about this quick peach cobbler is that you can easily switch up the fruit depending on the season and enjoy a variety of easy cobbler flavors from this one recipe.

Make a blackberry cobbler in the summer with fresh fruit or a quick peach cobbler in the winter with canned fruit. Since we have blackberry bushes I usually make blackberry cobbler using this recipe.

    Quick Peach Cobbler

Mom just made this quick peach cobbler at her house and brought me some. Yum! Know what’s even tastier than dessert? Dessert that you didn’t have to make yourself. Am I right? Still, this recipe is so simple and easy you probably won’t mind. Get someone else to clean up the dishes and it’s pretty close to being served!

    Ingredients:

    • 1 stick butter
    • 1 cup self-rising flour
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 2 cups fruit

    Directions:

    1. Melt butter in the bottom of an 8×8 or 9×9 square pan.
    2. Mix flour, sugar, milk together in a medium bowl.
    3. Pour over butter. Do not stir!
    4. Pour fruit on top and bake at 400 degrees until browned on top, about 30 minutes.

Here’s a fun little history lesson about where cobbler came from, how it got its name, and why (thank goodness!) it’s not intended to be pretty. What is your favorite kind of cobbler?
