Equipment

  • Sharpie or black permanent marker
  • cutter or X-acto knife
  • Scissors
  • paintbrush

Ingredients

  • 1 block of styrofoam
  • 2 plastic eggs
  • 1 small egg carton
  • 2 pairs of googly eyes
  • blue acrylic paint
  • pipe cleaners of different colors
  • hot glue

Instructions

  • Paint the egg carton as desired
  • Mark the Styrofoam using half of the plastic egg.
  • Cut the Styrofoam based on the egg mark.
  • Using the pointed part of the eggs, glue the Styrofoam inside.  Disregard the bottom part of the eggs.
  • Hot glue a pair of eyes on the topmost part, near the edge of the plastic egg.
  • Draw smiling lips just below the eyes of the egg.
  • Hot glue the plastic eggs on the wells of the egg carton.  This will permanently fix the eggs on the carton, preventing movement later on
  • Make random shapes of flowers from the red, pink, yellow and purple pipe cleaners (or your choice of colors) You can use the tip of the paintbrush if you want to form perfect circles from it.
  • Insert the stem in the middle of the flower.  You can use green or brown pipe cleaners for this.
  • Make small leaves and twist it in the stem of the flower.  You get to decide how many leaves per flower will be made.
  • Insert the flower plants on the styrofoam.  Arrange them properly and make sure that every flower has its own placement on each plastic egg.
  • Tada!  You now have an adorable Easter egg potted flowers ready for display!
