Ingredients

  • ½ cup almond flour
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise or avocado mayonnaise for Paleo or egg-free diets
  • 2 tilapia fillets*
  • ½ cup thinly sliced almonds
  • vegetable oil spray

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together the almond flour, butter, pepper, and salt
  • Spread the mayonnaise on both sides of each fish fillet
  • Dredge the fillets in the almond flour mixture
  • Spread the sliced almonds on one side of each fillet, pressing lightly to adhere
  • Spray the air fryer basket with vegetable oil spray. Place the fish fillets in the basket. Set the air fryer to 325°F for 10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Notes

*My tilapia fillets were small (the kind you purchase individually frozen in a bag to thaw as needed) and so I was able to get away with putting three in my basket without much overlap. If you have substantial tilapia fillets that you purchased at the seafood counter of your grocer, you'll probably only be able to fit 2 just like the recipe calls for. The main thing is to keep the fillets in one layer without overlap.
