If you read my last post about #ScoutElfReturnWeek you know that we were anticipating the arrival of our very first Scout Elf. I’m excited to announce the Marshmallow has joined us for the holiday season and we were ready for him with an after school welcome party!
And Santa himself sent us some special cookies to enjoy during the celebration!
What else did we serve? Well, you remember Santa’s helper, Chanda Bell, telling us that Scout Elves enjoy sweets so we served hot chocolate with marshmallows for Marshmallow and some grapes and milk too just so we had a healthy option. He seemed to appreciate it.
And so did the Elf Pets,
not to mention Sweet T and Gus.
Sweet T wasted no time telling Marshmallow what she wanted for Christmas (a real camera and rain boots) then we helped Marshmallow open his welcome gift.
We had thunderstorms all that night and into the morning so we wanted to make sure Marshmallow would be protected from the elements during his flight to the North Pole and back with some rain gear.
Sweet T was a little confused about how Marshmallow would manage his raincoat and boots without our help, but I assured her if we left them where he could see them (in this case where the cookies were) that he’d take them with him that night.
Sure enough, he arrived the next morning in in his raincoat and boots! We’re so glad he weathered the storms ok.
Every Scout Elf has his or her own personality and while we’re still getting to know Marshmallow, one thing is obvious already…he’s very thoughtful.
He was kind enough to bring one of his own towels to lay down before sitting on my piano so the wood wouldn’t get wet! I hope his thoughtfulness rubs off on all of us this Christmas season.
